Barrals manual diagnostics – Basic concepts and new developments in visceral Manipulation

In this course we will study how to combine general listening, local listening and manual thermo diagnosis for diagnostic certainty. We will focus on the relationships of visceral organs with each other while applying manipulation in listening mode.
The course may be booked as a single course, or in combination with the following courses of Barral for a reduced fee. This course is taught in English.

Manipulation of peripheral nerves- upper extremity

With the manual treatment of peripheral nerves Barral and Croibier have made another step towards specification of manual treatment. The treatment of peripheral nerves has quite a lot of relevance in application to difficult clinical cases. The first part of the course gives an introduction to the anatomical and physiological foundation. We will first explore the Dura mater spinalis.
Then we will evaluate diagnostically the branches of the Plexus cervicalis and the branches of the N. phrenicus. A series of techniques for treatment will be demonstrated and practiced under supervision. Based on that a detailed evaluation and treatment of the nerves of the upper extremity follow:
N. accesorius, N. subscapularis, N. axillaries, N. radialis, N. musculocutaneus, N.cutaneus antbrachii medialis, N. medianus and N. ulnaris.

Manipulation of peripheral nerves – lower extremity

This second part of the course about nerves starts with a review of the diagnosis and treatment of the Dura mater spinalis. Then, we will explore the symptomatic field of the lumbar and pelvic area, including the legs.
The plexus lumbalis will be discussed, followed by practical treatment of the single nerve branches:
N. genitofemoralis, N. iliohypogastricus, N. ilioinguinalis, N.cutaneus femoralis lateralis, N. obturatorius and N. femoralis.
Similarly, we will treat the Plexus sacralis and its branches: N. ischiadicus, N. tibialis; N. fibularis communis. Finally, we will also treat the nerves at the top and the sole of the foot and in the area of the medial maleolus.

Visceral manipulation part 1 – Organs of the abdominal cavity

This is the beginning course of the complete series of Visceral courses.
Beginning with liver, gall bladder and stomach we will study the basic concepts of visceral manipulation.
This includes investigation of all organs of the peritoneal cavity, including tests for mobility and motility.

We will check the organs in relationship to normal movement within the context of ligaments, membranes and in relationship to surrounding tissues and practically explore the possibilities of treatment. During the last day of the course we will have the chance to look at the so called viscoelasticity of the organs, a new approach developed by Barral during the last years.
