Manipulation of peripheral nerves – upper extremities
With the manual treatment of peripheral nerves Barral and Croibier have made another step towards specification of manual treatment. The treatment of pe- ripheral nerves has quite some relevance in its application to difficult clinical cases.
The first part of the course gives an introduction to the anatomical and physiological foundation. We will first explore the Dura mater spinalis. Then we will do the diagnostic evaluation of the branches of the Plexus cervicalis and the branches of the N. phrenicus. A series of techniques for treatment will be demonstrated and practiced under supervision.
Based on that a detailed evalu- ation and treatment of the nerves of the upper extremity follow: N. accesorius, N. subscapularis, N. axillaris, N. radialis, N. musculocutaneus, N.cutaneus an- tebrachii medialis, N. medianus and N. ulnaris.
